I went to the briefing on Thursday night at HS TR20. Most of participants were girls and there were all undergraduate students. The Titian Wahyu community invited a speaker Bro Haidir, a consultant, a school teacher and had done a lot of humanitarian works. He gave advises and tips before we proceed with the work on two days after.

Up we go~~~
I learnt something after I joined this humanitarian visit. After a patient is admitted to hospital for having a cancer, they can choose whether to have an operation first and chemotherapy after that or in other way around. However, doctor consultation is very important before making any decision.
There are three therapies that are used to treat cancer : Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy and Sympto. As I understand, Sympto is used when the patient is really weak. Chemo is used to make the cancer cell become smaller using medicine prescribed, while Radiotherapy is a treatment using laser to reduce the cancer cell.
There are patients who are treated using one therapy in a time but there is also patients who gets both, Chemo and Radiotherapy (CRRT). The side effects are the same except for laser user, their skins got dried and it looks as if they are getting new skin. ( If I'm not mistaken)
One of Chinese patient said: "0oo0oo..kanser manyak saket ooo0oo.." Poor her...
We as a Muslim believe that getting sick or pain can wipe away our sins as long as we bear with it without any grumbling or complaining, InsyaAllah.

One of the nurses said that many patients came after they were announced to be at stage 4, which is quite difficult and hard to treat. So to people out there, be more cautious with what you eat and the condition of your body. It it shows any cancer symptoms or any other sickness, seek doctor consultation immeadiately!
I was a bit disappointed because I couldn't take any picture with the patients. However, their faces are still fresh sketched in my mind.
The main objectives of this visit were to preach them to Islam and teach them how to perform as a Muslim in their condition. Practically, it was quite hard to do because most of them didn't understand Malay and English languages. We just able to show Islam in our manner and behaviour. We also contribuuted some leaflets, souvenirs and dates to the patients.
I hope this kind of humanitarian job will be done again in the future towards showing real Islam in the eyes of Non-Muslims.
