Devil Bridge

I was tidying my room when I found a postcard that I posted to my family on 2004. It was a picture of Devil Bridge and I wrote there my greatest experience after the first time arriving in the UK.

Malaysian and some foreign students went there with 2 buses as a closing of our programme. I still remember it as if it has just happened. I remember climbing the can't-count how many stairs, maybe more then two hundreds. I also remember sitting over the small hill with the view of waterfall while having my lunch. I remember being the first to get on top with Norja but the door was locked. It was so tiring. I thought that I needed to go back to the place where I started but luckily there was a trespasser and she was so kindly helping us to unlock the door. And lastly I remember eating an ice-cream before got on the bus. It was so refreshing!Still feel the freezing and cold taste...
Devil Bridge is located in mid Wales at a point where the road crosses a gorge. It spans the Mynach in Ceredigion, Wales, a tributary of the Rheidol. It consists of three bridges built on top of each other.

  1. The original bridge built on 1075-1200. It was thought to be unstable so that they had to build another bridge on top of it to support the scaffolding.
  2. A stone bridge constructed on 1753.
  3. The most recently built, an iron bridge in 1901.
When you reach at certain place before the top, you'll enjoy the beautiful view of waterfall. I took a picture with my face in it with the view of this waterfall. But unfortunately it was non-digital picture, and I haven't got scanner to put it in this entry.

Can you see the stairs? Can you see it's condition? Look how dangerous they are...however, to get 'survive', you need walk through these killing stairs.

Masha Allah...look at how clean it was. Far away from water pollution. I put my feet in the water, it was freezing!!

Underneath the Devil Bridge is a steep walkway which allows you to go down past the long cascading waterfalls beneath the Devil Bridge. The little pedestrian bridge takes you across the stream to the other side.

It was 14 of October 2004...in winter season.
